I am confuse why he needs to get a permit...please give me some advice. Thanks.

Pinky,

NTC permit is for a laptop which has a telecom modem or wireless transmitter such as wi-fi or bluetooth features. In addition, such a permit is only given to importers and not to the local public.

If the laptop has no modem or wireless features, there is no need for NTC permit.

hi, what are the penalties if importer didn't get a clearance in NTC prior to importation? is it automatic seizure? can importer still get clearance in ntc even if goods already arrived?
Does a GPS unit for cars need clearance in NTC? thanks.

If importer has already imported a
GPS device for cars without registration in NTC. What will be the penalties in BOC? is it automatic seizure or there is a penalty to pay?
