Israel - Standby Power Regulations Effective January 1, 2012

Standy Power regulations "Energy Sources (Maximum Electric Power in Standby Mode for Home and Office Appliances), 5771 - 2011 Regulations

Product Scope includes:

Household appliances with electronic displays: washing machine, dryer, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves;
Information technology equipment: computers, computer monitors and printers;
Audio equipment: radios, amplifiers and wireless telephones;
Television receivers, digital decoders to receive cable and satellite broadcasts (excluding digital decoders operated by broadcast centers or coded broadcasting)

Standard Used to Evaluate Compliance:

Israeli Standard IS 62301 "Household electrical appliances: measurement of standby power"

Test Laboratories:

Standards Institution of Israel or an approved laboratory within the meaning of Section 12 of the Standards Law

Effective Date:

January 1, 2012


Maximum Electric Power of Appliances In Standby Mode:

Appliances in standby mode which are then fully operative using a remote control or similar means: Maximum 1 Watt

Appliances with electronic displays to display information pertaining to operation mode of the appliance including but not limited to clocks: Maximum 2 Watts
