Standy Power regulations "Energy Sources (Maximum Electric Power in Standby Mode for Home and Office Appliances), 5771 - 2011 Regulations
Product Scope includes:
Household appliances with electronic displays: washing machine, dryer, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves;
Information technology equipment: computers, computer monitors and printers;
Audio equipment: radios, amplifiers and wireless telephones;
Television receivers, digital decoders to receive cable and satellite broadcasts (excluding digital decoders operated by broadcast centers or coded broadcasting)
Standard Used to Evaluate Compliance:
Israeli Standard IS 62301 "Household electrical appliances: measurement of standby power"
Test Laboratories:
Standards Institution of Israel or an approved laboratory within the meaning of Section 12 of the Standards Law
Effective Date:
January 1, 2012
Maximum Electric Power of Appliances In Standby Mode:
Appliances in standby mode which are then fully operative using a remote control or similar means: Maximum 1 Watt
Appliances with electronic displays to display information pertaining to operation mode of the appliance including but not limited to clocks: Maximum 2 Watts

Job Offer: Wireless Regulatory Test Expert – San Diego
Seeking an expert in wireless regulatory testing. BSEE preferred although Associate's Degree is acceptable. Must have extensive experience in taking products through regulatory testing in a wireless environment. This person must have either experience in the cellular space or the WiFi space (candidates with both will be given first preference). Ideally has contacts at the FCC and experience in technical discussions with Lab personnel. Responsible for achieving FCC approval as well as CE approval for all new products (about 4 to 6 a year). Ideal candidate will have RF Bench Test skills.

Brazil - Inmetro Standard Update for Household Appliances
In accordance to "Portaria INMETRO n⁰ 371/2009", parag. 2.1.1, starting January 1st, 2012 test reports based on Standard ABNT NBR NM 60335-1:2010 or IEC 60335-1:2006 (4th Edition of the Standard), as well as other particular Standards must be considered together with any partcular Part 2 Standards as specified in the Portaria.
"2.1.1 A critério do fabricante/importador, até 31/12/2011, este RAC considera a possibilidade de utilizar como base normativa a norma ABNT NBR NM 60335-1/ 2006 (e NM 60335-1/2006) – Segurança de Aparelhos Eletrodomésticos e Similares, Parte-1: Requisitos Gerais. Após este prazo apenas a versão 4 da IEC 60335-1:2006 ou da ABNT NBR (ou NM) equivalente e suas particulares correspondentes serão aceitas. Considera-se que a utilização das normas de requisitos particulares seja feita apenas nas versões compatíveis com a parte geral (60335-1) até o momento em que somente a versão 4 seja aceita."
