Brazil Anatel Certificates that are not maintained by the Brazilian certification body are automatically cancelled by Anatel after180 days from the date the maintenance is due. It is important that you discuss with your Brazilian importer, Agent or OCD involved in certification of your equipment to notify you when maintenance for your Brazilian certs are due.

Maintenance may involve limited testing of your equipment by the OCD.

Singapore - IMDA New Labeling Guidelines

Labeling requirements in Singapore have changed due to change of authority from IDA to IMDA , see link below with transitional arrangements specified in Section 6

·        Under Section 91(1) of the Info-communications Media Development Authority Act 2016, which came into force on 1 October 2016, all dealer’s licences and equipment registrations previously issued by IDA before 1 October 2016, will remain in force and will be deemed to be issued by IMDA.  All conditions in the respective dealer’s licence and equipment registration will remain the same.

·        Equipment that has been registered or renewed before 1 October 2016 with existing stock that are already affixed with the IDA compliance label before 1 October 2016, need not be replaced with the new IMDA compliance label.

·       Equipment that has been registered or renewed after 1 October 2016 with IMDA, shall be affixed with the IMDA compliance label by no later than 30 September 2017. This is to allow time for dealers to prepare and affix the new IMDA label.

Argentina - Telecom/Radiocom Regulator Now ENACOM

There is now a new regulator ENACOM (ENTE NACIONAL DE COMMUNICACIONES) created by the new government in Argentina.

ENACOM now regulates all telecom/radiocom equipment entering Argentina.

By a Argentina Government Decree No. 267/2015, ENACOM has 60 business days from December 29, 2015 to reorganize their internal processes. This is delaying all certs for telecom/radiocom equipment previously submitted to AFTIC and all new submittals to ENACOM.

Looks like every time there is a new government in Argentina, a new regulator is formed. As most of you know AFTIC was not too long ago established to replace CNC.

Argentina - CNC now AFTIC

In accordance to Article 77 of Law Nr. 27078 "Argentina Digital", the FEDERAL AUTHORITY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS – (In Spanish “AUTORIDAD FEDERAL DE TECNOLOGÍAS DE LA INFORMACIÓN Y LAS COMUNICACIONES” – AFTIC), started its duties on June 1st 2015 and continues with the activities carried out by the former National Communications Commission - CNC.

Due to the re-organization process at AFTIC, including management structure and staff changes, we may be experiencing some delays in the Homologation of Telecom and Radiocom products for Argentina.
There has been no announcement yet on how product markings will be impacted. We will be following up with this shortly.
