Argentina - Telecom/Radiocom Regulator Now ENACOM

There is now a new regulator ENACOM (ENTE NACIONAL DE COMMUNICACIONES) created by the new government in Argentina.

ENACOM now regulates all telecom/radiocom equipment entering Argentina.

By a Argentina Government Decree No. 267/2015, ENACOM has 60 business days from December 29, 2015 to reorganize their internal processes. This is delaying all certs for telecom/radiocom equipment previously submitted to AFTIC and all new submittals to ENACOM.

Looks like every time there is a new government in Argentina, a new regulator is formed. As most of you know AFTIC was not too long ago established to replace CNC.

Argentina - CNC now AFTIC

In accordance to Article 77 of Law Nr. 27078 "Argentina Digital", the FEDERAL AUTHORITY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS – (In Spanish “AUTORIDAD FEDERAL DE TECNOLOGÍAS DE LA INFORMACIÓN Y LAS COMUNICACIONES” – AFTIC), started its duties on June 1st 2015 and continues with the activities carried out by the former National Communications Commission - CNC.

Due to the re-organization process at AFTIC, including management structure and staff changes, we may be experiencing some delays in the Homologation of Telecom and Radiocom products for Argentina.
There has been no announcement yet on how product markings will be impacted. We will be following up with this shortly.

Argentina: Codification

In Argentina Codification is similar to Homologation. It is a permission granted by the CNC, allowing the commercialization of a certain equipment in those cases where no CNC standards exist for the particular product. For Codification no in-country testing is performed, unless specifically required by the CNC. However, a technical file must be submitted to the CNC for the Codification
