The scope is now wider but with new exclusions, equipment must be CE marked and there are specific obligations placed on manufacturers, importers and distributors. One of the aims of the recast is to clarify areas of uncertainty but there are still some issues that are open to interpretation. Dr. Goodman trained as a chemist and has worked in the electronics industry for over 25 years and has been closely involved with environmental issues for the last decade.
