Korea Communications Commission (KCC)

On February 29, 2008, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has been formed after consolidating the former Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) and the Korean Broadcasting Commission (KBC).

As such, the MIC Mark will be replaced by the new KCC Mark effectice November 2008.

South Korea - Photovoltaic Module Certification

PV module certification in Korea is administered by the New and Renewable Energy Center http://www.knrec.or.kr.

KEMCO (Korea Energy Management Corporation) is the organization that operates the program. Testing is subcontracted to laboratories in Korea. There are two laboratories in Korea conducting PV module testing.

The PV modules are tested per K 61215 and K 61730 standards.

A legal representative (importer) is required in Korea to obtain the certification.

Cd: below 0.01%/wt

Overseas manufacturer must self declare compliance and South Korean importer must register ROHS product information to “Korea Environment & Resources Corporation (www.ecoas.or.kr)” within a month of import declaration date. Manufacturer and importer are responsible to submit required information for recycling upon request.
