Malaysia – SIRIM Type Approval Requirements for Notebook PC’s; Modular Approach Eliminated
Under the new Malaysian radiocom regulations, Notebook applications will now fall under the
hybrid
product category meaning each Notebook PC will need to be SIRIM Type Approved in
full
regardless of whether it uses SIRIM Type Approved radio modules.
This
new requirement is effective immediately. Official

will follow accordingly.

Russia and Rostechnadzor Permits
Starting January 1, 2014 there is no longer a need to get a Russian Rostechnadzor Permit for hazardous location equipment. In accordance to Federal Law 22 signed on March 4, 2013, it is sufficient to obtain a certificate in compliance with technical regulations (TR CU Certificate) or an industrial safety type examination (depends on the equipment type).
