Thought for the Week

The Internet is like alcohol in some sense. It accentuates what you would do anyway. If you want to be a loner, you can be more alone. If you want to connect, it makes it easier to connect.

— Esther Dyson

Australia - Carrier Telecommunication Equipment

For carrier type telecommunication equipment (not customer Premises Equipment, CPE) a carrier licence is required. Usually, the licensed carrier themselves dictate the test & inspection requirements based upon the deployment guides as per the licensed carriers "conditions of supply contract".

Deployment guides can be found at http://www.commsalliance.com.au/documents/codes

Argentina: Codification

In Argentina Codification is similar to Homologation. It is a permission granted by the CNC, allowing the commercialization of a certain equipment in those cases where no CNC standards exist for the particular product. For Codification no in-country testing is performed, unless specifically required by the CNC. However, a technical file must be submitted to the CNC for the Codification
