Starting January 1, 2014 there is no longer a need to get a Russian Rostechnadzor Permit for hazardous location equipment. In accordance to Federal Law 22 signed on March 4, 2013, it is sufficient to obtain a certificate in compliance with technical regulations (TR CU Certificate) or an industrial safety type examination (depends on the equipment type).
Any questions on Russian or Customs Union requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Brazil: Anatel Discussion Regarding Resolutions 442 and 506
ANATEL discussions with OCDs (Certification Bodies) and Brazilian accredited laboratories took place in late August to review proposals for revision of two of the main Resolutions:
1. Radiation Restricted laboratory equipment (Resolution No. 506);
2. Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC (Resolution No. 442);
The meetings at Anatel were aimed to propose standardization of testing procedures and harmonization to international references. After a common understanding between the OCD´s/Testing Laboratories, Anatel will place the proposals for public consultation prior to their official publication.
Best Regards, Peter
